It’s unfortunate that the substituted expletive means so much in a single word. It represents an emotion and is a commanding statement all at once.
It’s a declaration of strength in a powerless situation. It says:
I am not going to let 2020 beat me down.
I am frustrated.
I am empowered.
I am stronger than you know.
We are in this together.
I have given up on you 2020.
Everyone is saying this in some fashion- at least to themselves. Our hope is to make viewers stop, notice, and reflect. The title alone suggests what to expect in the show.
We believe this exhibit will provide a stage to allow participants to address and release thoughts and feelings that this year has triggered. The making of art can be therapeutic and by joining together in this project, we can build a sense of togetherness even though we are physically kept apart. We hope to spark interest in our audience by stirring up conversation as we reminisce over memories that the art will bring.
Our goal is to give way for diverse voices and unique experiences to come together and create powerful messages and connect with those who might relate to the messages and struggles being portrayed.
